From the Archives: Acrostic Poem

Hey dears, trust you are having a beautiful day. Mine has been so far and I am hopeful it would end just so.

It’s another day to share another write up from my archive. This was written as an undergraduate for one of my creative writing class. We were asked to share an acrostic poem with our names. And here is mine:

D – Dragging my feet all day

E – Enduring the pain of being a fool

B – Because I was away

O –  Or was I a careless fool?

R – Revenge cries in me as I lay?

A – And I will surely

H – Hearken to the voice of my heart fairly

If you had been my lecturer, how would you have scored me?

An acrostic poem is a type of poetry where the first, last or other letters in a line spell out a particular word or phrase. The most common and simple form of an acrostic poem is where the first letters of each line spell out the word or phrase.

Thanks for reading!
