How To Style Palazzo Pants With Princess Audu

How To Style Palazzo Pants With Princess Audu

Palazzo Pants are women’s long trousers, cut with a loose, extremely wide leg that flares out from the waist. Which makes it different from bell bottoms pants that flare out from the knees. The best thing about palazzo pants and the reason that they are so popular and loved is that they provide you with complete freedom of movement and flexibility.

If you are resident in Nigeria, you will agree with me that the heat has not been fair on us in recent time. Especially if you reside in the Northern Nigeria like Abuja, then you will understand me. It is not even summer but this is what we find ourselves dealing with. Hence, the need to ensure you include light clothing to your wardrobe.

Styling Palazzo Pants

Palazzo Pants fall into this category of light clothing. It is one of those retro trend that has made a comeback and a lot of style bloggers have styled it in different ways. In this post, I have collaborated with another beautiful style blogger PrincessAudu on how to style this pants. Sarah and I, are two different sized persons which makes this collaboration all the more interesting.

I have owned quite a number of palazzo pants over the last one year but I have always struggle with how to style it. Before this collaboration, I had my pants but I kept trying with almost all the tops I owned. While I was doing all these, I was concerned about wearing an outfit that would hide different parts of my body and at the same time finding a piece that will fit perfectly.

TIPS TO STYLING PALAZZO PANTS

#1: Choose comfortable tops to match it

Wear Comfortable Tops on Your Palazzo Pants

It does not matter how your clothes look or fit, it is about how comfortable you are. I decided to settle for my off shoulder top and accentuate my waist with a belt. I was super comfy and I had zero worries about how I looked. Plus, I could show off my not sexy shoulders.

#2: Palazzo Pants is not only for Tall Women

One of the biggest myth associated with wearing palazzo pants is that it is not for short or petite women. But here I am, 5 feet 4 inches wearing one and leaving you to be the judge. If you are not one of the ‘tall women’, go with something that is shorter in length and with just the right hem-line like PrincessAudu did here.

#3: Choose the right waist cut

Princess Audu definitely knows how to wear a clothe right. She knows her body type, which makes it easy for her to pair her pants with this burgundy top that sit just right atop her pants revealing her slim waistline.

Choose the right waist cut

#4: For a formal palazzo, keep the colors down

You definitely would not want to dress to the office looking like me but Sarah can definitely get an award as the best dressed for the day if she decided to dress like this to work. You can however choose my style if you are just having a date with the girls or with your partner.

Keep the colors down for a more formal occasion

#5: Do not restrict yourself to matching patterns

Years ago, if someone had shown me a picture of someone wearing stripes and floral, I would have screamed ‘Fashion Police’. Today, fashion has become a different story. It is about how you wear it, how you carry yourself, how very comfortable you are and how you allow others see you.

When putting together an outfit, you have to look for balance.

Im not hating but This is not how to style a pallazo pant. Sarah styled hers better and really well. Pallazo pants are already big , you need to style them with a form fitted blouse or top. Your big blouse in this article is better off with a pencil trouser .

Look for balance. Next time, wear it with something that fits your body.

Hello Chidera, I appreciate your honest feedback and I will not try to make you see reason with it as I have already stated this in the article. I would rather take note of the corrections.

      Cheers.

And who says pallazo pants have to be paired with a tight top always and a big blouse must go with a pencil trouser? Then you know nothing about fashion. All that matters is she is comfortable in it and you look absolutely gorgeous as well. Definitely my all day style of wearing a pallazo.

I actually rather style my Pallazos with loose fitted blouses than tight fitted ones.. This article is meant to show diversity and not comparism. To each his own. Fashion is very much individualistic. Do you.. Be you!

No, dear ‘ not a hater’, you are absolutely wrong on that. I wear Pallazos every other day and rarely would you see me with tight fitting tops. Try and take a little step out of your comfort zone and expand your horizon. The world is changing and so is Fashion. You also need to know that there are no clear cut out rules for fashion and you only choke yourself by staying inside a box. Explore, live, learn, grab new ideas and be more flexible. I hope I was able to share some light your way.

Sorry to burst your bubbles but you’re totally wrong!!!
When styling anything, you have to bring to mind the different body shape and the best way the outfit will compliment each.

There are different ways to style palazzo. It’s not your style doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be hers.

I loved how she styled herself; she looks amazing.

You both look lovely in those pants. For a skinny ass girl like me, I’m often scared of wearing palazzo’s cos I think it’s bogus and would make me look thinner. How do skinny girls wear palazzo’s and rock it right?

Really? I admire it more on slimmer ladies especially when you have long legs, oh dear, it’s always perfect.

You should try and wear it once and I’m sure you’d love how it would fit.

Not all pants should be skinny, bogus for comfort, you know 😉

Okay, thanks for the feedback. I’ll try experimenting with it, you have been very helpful. 😊

I absolutely love this post! You ladies did an amazing job with the styling, and those tips are spot on. I used to be sceptical about pallazo pants because I felt it wouldn’t look too good on a portable person, but here and now, I have been convinced. Plus I’m all about comfort !

    Great Job Debs!
