4 Ways To Have A More Appealing First Date
I wish I could tell all of you that dating is easy, but I’d be lying. It’s hard. You can meet singles anywhere these days. From dating apps to in person, and everything in between, you never know when you’re going to meet your next first date. The most important thing to remember when it comes to dating is keeping an open mind. The person you’re meeting up with might not be your soulmate, and that’s okay. Dating is a great way to figure out what you’re looking for in a potential partner.

Communication

From the moment that the date is initiated, an open line of communication is a must. Chances are, the two of you will be talking up until the first date. This will give you a chance to dial in on each other’s likes and dislikes, which will result in easy plan- making. Remember, the first date doesn’t have to be over the top or expensive. You’ll want to choose a location that makes you both feel comfortable. A coffee shop or night out at a brewery are excellent first date options.

Dress Code For A First Date

Figuring out what to wear on a first date can always be stressful. How many of you have have been left standing in the middle of your room or closet with your entire wardrobe scattered around you? We’ve all been there. But there is no need to panic. Determining the location is the hardest part, so choosing the perfect outfit is easy!
Another essential thing to remember when picking out a first date outfit is pick out something you’re comfortable in. If you feel comfortable in your outfit, you’ll act comfortable too! If you’re going on a daytime date, try to wear something casual. For women, I recommend wearing boyfriend-style jeans and a nice sweater. Throw on a scarf as a nice, casual accessory. For the men, try wearing a patterned dress shirt with a nice pair of jeans for a stylish, yet casual look. If your date takes place in the evening, you’ll want to dress up your outfit. For the ladies, I suggest wearing a bell-sleeve blouse with dark-washed skinny jeans. Put on a pair of over-the-knee boots to elevate your date-night look. For the gentlemen, throw on blazer over a cashmere sweater with a nice pair of khaki pants to impress your date.

Etiquette

Dating etiquette is by far the most crucial aspect of a first date. With phones glued to our hands, it can be hard to take a step back and disconnect. I highly advise you to put your phone away during the date. You’d be surprised how many people think it’s okay to to leave their phone out on the table or answer a text while on a date. First impressions mean everything, so you’ll want to make sure you’re engaged in the conversation. If you’re not an on-call doctor, put the phone away.

Next steps

Remember my most important piece to dating? Keeping an open mind! Don’t be crushed if the first doesn’t go well. You’re not going to have a strong connection with everyone. It’s important to be upfront and honest with your date if you don’t see a second date in the future. No one likes to be led on. If the first date was a success, don’t be shy about confirming a second date. Anyone can take the reins for planning the next date. By the second or third date, you should be able to gauge each others likes and dislikes, which will make plan-making process a breeze.

      Thanks dear. For the case of distance relationship, when eventually you both meet, it would be awesome if you could bring to reality all you must have talked about and hoped for.

      Keep in touch as much as you can until the day you both meet and make the first meet as memorable as you can.

    I had gone on a date with this guy who couldn’t stop fingering his phone and laughing like a hyena. It was quite annoying cos I had data too and oh, I had couple of messages I refused to reply cos of courtesy. Msheww

      Oh my God 😅😅😅 Did you just say hyena? I’m weak. But I think it’s really a wrong thing to get distracted with your phone when meeting other people especially for the first time. It’s really disrespectful.
